  1. Mr. Parker,

About our proposals, should we email our topics to you so that people know which ones have been taken?

    1. Hi Michael's Burger,

If you are working together on your project with other students, you should be in communication with them. Either you can do that here (in the proposal comments), or via phone or email. I would still like you to bring your proposals in written form, as we will be working on them in class.

  2. Mr. Parker,
Can the narrator count as a fictional character, since there obviously wouldn't be a narrator in the real event?
Also, what do you mean by each episode should have a plot? do we need to do more tahn one episode, or can it just be one long one?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Nicole,

You may count your narrator as one of the fictional characters only if the narrator also takes part in the story. You only need to write one episode. However, some students are working together on longer multi-episode stories. Those multi-episode projects need to make sure that each episode has its own plot arc.If you are working by yourself, you just need to make sure your own project has a plot-arc. Hope this helps!

  3. Mr. Parker,

May I have 4 non - fictional characters? 2 couples? I may have 1 or 2 children with one line, is that OK, and do they count as 1 character?

    Thank you,

    Renée

    1. Hi Renee,

I'm sorry but you'll have to stick with only 2 fictional characters. You may have some additional fictional characters, but they cannot have major speaking roles.

  4. Mr. Parker,

I am doing the documentary as group project, and I was wondering if the episodes have to be ten minutes each, or if they have to be ten minutes all together. Also, my partner and I didn't exactly each write one plot arc, we just talked through them both together and both made both of them. Is that okay? Thanks!

    1. Hi Anna,

Your segments each need to be roughly 10 minutes long (give or take a minute) and they each need to follow a clear plot arc.
