Also, to all students who have yet to present, please re-check your guidelines as there has been some confusion amongst students. Your presentation should be about a social history topic. That means, you should be talking about the average, everyday experiences of normal people. More particularly, your topic should involve things like cooking, games, worship practices, popular music, everyday clothing, traditions, festivals, and holidays.
Some examples of good topics include:
How did the Cowboys Actually Dress?, New England Food Culture in the late 19th Century, The Rise of College Football, Wedding Ceremonies in Antebellum Slave Quarters, The Evolution of Formal Hats in America: 1900-1960, The Rise of the Christmas Tree in American Celebrations, The Tent Meeting in American Protestantism, The Decline and Fall of American Guy Fawkes Day Celebration.
If you have any questions about this, please ask in the comments section!
Lastly, students who missed last week's quiz, make sure that you take last week's quiz this week.
The topic for the presentation has to be within the time period we are studying the week we are presenting, right? For example, if we are presenting the week we study WW1, we can't talk about clothing that the Pilgrims wore.
